Waste Conversion Technology Conference & Trade

The 9th Annual Waste Conversion Technology Conference & Trade Show will be held on August
15-17, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina in San Diego, California, USA. The
Call for Speakers ends on February 27, 2016. The conference will provide a forum for
informing the public and private sectors of the economic and environmental significance of converting waste
materials to alternative fuels such as biodiesel and ethanol as well as renewable electric energy. Attendees

California Bioresources Alliance Symposium, Rancho
Cordova, Nov 4-5, 2015
The tenth annual California Bioresources Alliance Symposium will be held November 4-5,
2015 at the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, 11020 Sun Center Drive, Rancho Cordova, and
will focus on building healthy soils. Expanding on the governor’s Healthy Soils Initiative this year, the
symposium will explore the application of organic residual products in improving soil quality and moisture
retention, setting standards for these products, and developing best management practices. Sessions will also
feature work currently being done with digestates and biochar. The Association of Compost Producers will lead a session on compost policy
and marketing. The two-day event is co-hosted by the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) Extension and
the US Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9. The registration fee for the two-day event is $195, but a 10% discount is
available for associations (code required) and groups of three or more. UC Davis students can attend the

2015 SCWMF Waste Management Conference, Pomona, November 18,

The Southern California Waste
Management Forum (SCWMF) has announced its 2015 Waste Management Conference and Exhibits, which will take place
on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel and Conference Center in Pomona, California. The
theme of this year's event is "Past, Present and Future: The Continuous Challenge of Change". Last year, over
200 people, including local government managers, industry decision-makers, and elected officials attended the
conference and exhibit area. SCWMF is an educational organization dedicated to advancing knowledge of the
interrelationship between waste management practices and the environment. This year's topics include: "Renewable
Energy Technologies"; "Pharmaceuticals"; "Public Outreach / Messaging"; and "Organics". The Roundtable
Discussion in the afternoon is focused on "Roads to Zero Waste" and will be moderated by Mike Mohajer. The panel
at this time includes: Nick Lapis, CAW; Betsey Landis, Los Angeles County Solid Waste Management Committee; Pat
Proano, Los Angeles County DPW; Michelle Leonard, SCS Engineers; Mike Balliet, ReGreen International Solution,
